Since that Forum the director Pete Grannis was fired and Joseph Martens of the Open Space Institute (OSI) was nominated as the new DEC Commissioner. The draft Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement (draft SGEIS) SGEIS will determine if and where drilling will be permitted in the Marcellus Shale formation and the debate continues about the real cumulative impacts.
