Days before the election, long term NY Congressman Maurice Hinchey receives support from his constituents as he campaigns against money poured into upstate NY by Carl Rove. Oil and Gas Industry backed Rove appears with his money to defeat the Congressman and green light drilling in the region. Hinchey is one of the co-sponsors of the FRAC Act.
The FRAC Act (Fracturing Responsibility and Awareness of Chemicals Act of 2011) has been reintroduced in the House and the Senate. This bill will require frackers to disclose the chemicals they inject underground and subject hydraulic fracturing to the Safe Drinking Water Act. Even if you expressed your support for the FRAC Act in the past, take a moment to now to reiterate your support, as far as Congress is concerned, this is a new piece of legislation. Sabrina speaks with phone bankers volunteering for Hinchey in Monticello, NY about why they support him, their thoughts on drilling and their involvement to protect their homes. Congressman Hinchey also speaks with Sabrina.
